SipLogger ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use our free educational BAC calculator and drink tracker mobile application.

Information We Collect

SipLogger is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not require account registration or login. The app collects no data whatsoever.

Data stored locally on your device:

• Drink session logs and history
• Profile information (weight, height, sex, age) for estimated BAC calculations
• App settings (language, measurement units, preferences)

This data never leaves your device. There are no servers, no cloud sync, and no data transmission.

Apple HealthKit

SipLogger may optionally access Apple HealthKit to read the following data for more accurate educational estimated BAC calculations:

• Weight — used in the Widmark formula
• Height — used in the Watson TBW calculation
• Biological Sex — used for gender-specific distribution factors
• Date of Birth — used for age-related metabolic adjustments

Important HealthKit disclosures:

• HealthKit access is entirely optional — the app works without it
• SipLogger only reads from HealthKit — it never writes health data
• HealthKit data is used only for local calculations on your device
• HealthKit data is never transmitted to any server or third party
• HealthKit data is never stored outside of Apple's HealthKit framework
• HealthKit data is never used for advertising or marketing

Third-Party Services in the App

SipLogger contains no third-party SDKs, analytics, tracking, or advertising within the mobile app. There are no network calls made by the app. All calculations are performed locally on your device.

Website Analytics

This website (siplogger.app) uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with a consent-based cookie banner. Website analytics are entirely separate from the mobile app, which contains no analytics.

• Analytics cookies are only loaded after you explicitly accept them
• You can reject cookies and browse the website without any tracking
• You can change your cookie preference at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer
• GA4 is configured with consent mode — no data is collected until consent is granted

Data We Do Not Collect

We want to be clear about what we do NOT collect:

• We do not collect personal identification information
• We do not require account creation or login
• We do not have backend servers
• We do not collect analytics or usage data within the app
• We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to any third party
• We do not use tracking technologies within the app
• We do not transmit HealthKit data anywhere

Data Security

Your data is stored locally on your device using iOS standard secure storage mechanisms. All data remains under your control and is protected by your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).

Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete your data at any time by:

• Deleting individual sessions or drinks within the app
• Clearing all app data through iOS Settings
• Uninstalling the app

Age Requirement

SipLogger is rated 18+ on the App Store and is intended for adults of legal drinking age. The app is an educational and informational tool — it does not encourage or promote alcohol consumption. We do not knowingly make the app available to anyone under the legal drinking age in their jurisdiction.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
